Day Waterman College is a modern co-educational boarding

Job Description:
The Vice Principal (Pastoral)
assists the Principal in providing quality education for students in the care
of Day Waterman College. He/she works collaboratively with the Leadership Team
in leading and managing Day Waterman College.
As a member of Day Waterman College
Leadership Team, the Vice Principal (Pastoral) exercises delegated
responsibility from the Board of Directors of Day Waterman College, through the
Principal, and is directly responsible for the performance of his/her duties to
the Principal.
Responsibilities:
In supporting the Principal in the
exercise of Executive Leadership, the Vice Principal
(Pastoral) is expected to:
• deputize for the Principal in his
absence from Day Waterman College
• provide public support and loyalty
to the Principal and his/her senior colleagues
• contribute to the development of
College policy
• contribute to the processes of
strategic planning
• contribute to staff selection
processes
• attend College functions, as
appropriate
• undertake his/her tasks and
responsibilities as may be requested by the Principal
• Model sound classroom teaching
practice that reflects current educational theory
• remain abreast of current thinking
in the area of adolescent development
• keep abreast of educational
developments and changes
• support the work of the Vice
Principal (Curriculum) in the development of curriculum and the improvement of
teaching/learning processes
• facilitate the development and
maintenance of a College environment which is conducive to optimal learning
outcomes for students
• Support and assist teach with
positive classroom management strategies
• coordinate the orientation and
induction of new staff members
• support initiatives for the
professional development of staff
• support the Vice Principal
(Curriculum) in relation to compliance with CIS requirements for registration
and accreditation
• oversee Day Waterman College’s
co-curricular programs
• promote positive interpersonal
relationships within Day Waterman College, which reflect Day
